Manufacturing an Online UPS is an exercise in power electronics precision. The process is divided into several critical engineering phases:
- The Rectifier Stage: Engineers design the rectifier to handle varying input voltages while maintaining high power factor correction (PFC). This ensures the UPS doesn't "pollute" the building's electrical system.
- The Inverter Design: This is the heart of the unit. High-speed IGBTs (Insulated Gate Bipolar Transistors) are used to switch thousands of times per second to create a perfect sine wave, regardless of the load complexity.
- Thermal Management: Since Online UPS systems are "always on," they generate heat. Manufacturing involves designing advanced heat sinks and intelligent cooling fan arrays to ensure 24/7 reliability.
- The Testing Protocol: Every unit undergoes "Burn-in testing," where the UPS is run at 100% load for several hours in a high-temperature chamber to identify any component weaknesses before shipping.
