What is an Online UPS system?

The digital age demands 100% operational readiness, but the electricity grid is far from perfect. This is where an Online UPS (Uninterruptible Power Supply) system becomes crucial. Unlike traditional backup power systems, an Online UPS system operates on dual conversion technology.
How it works:
-
AC to DC: The system takes "unstable" power from the electrical outlet and converts it to DC (direct current).
-
Battery Charging: This DC power charges the batteries and feeds the inverter.
-
DC to AC: The inverter converts the DC current back into AC (alternating current) in the form of a pure sine wave.
The main difference: In an Online UPS system, the inverter is always supplying power to the load. There is no transfer time, meaning 0ms, because the battery is already connected to the circuit. In the event of a power outage, the system does not perform a "switch," but simply continues to draw from the battery. This makes it the only option for critical devices and equipment that cannot tolerate any interruption.
