What is an Online UPS?

The digital age demands 100% uptime, but the electrical grid is far from perfect. This is where an Online Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS) becomes critical. Unlike standard backup systems, an Online UPS operates on Double Conversion technology.
How it Works: 1. AC to DC: It takes the "dirty" power from the wall outlet and converts it into Direct Current (DC). 2. Battery Charging: This DC power charges the batteries and feeds the inverter. 3. DC to AC: The inverter converts the DC back into a "Pure Sine Wave" AC.
Key Difference: In an Online UPS, the inverter is always providing power to the load. There is zero transfer time (0ms) because the battery is already connected to the circuit. In the event of a blackout, the system doesn't "switch"—it simply continues to draw from the battery. This makes it the only choice for mission-critical hardware.
